With Örebro as its base, the entire world is its arena, and the ensemble tours with a broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to new compositions. The Swedish Chamber Orchestra is a full-time ensemble of 39 players based in the city of Örebro (2 hours west of Stockholm by car or by train). The orchestra has its home in the Örebro Concert Hall, where each member of the orchestra has a private practice room. The Swedish Chamber Orchestra tours and performs a full season at home at the Örebro Concert Hall. They have appeared at the BBC Proms, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Salzburg Festival.
